The gap this closes
A folder of JSON is not evidence
Intercom’s export gives you the data. It does not give you a readable transcript, a way to search it, or anything proving the file you produce in three years is the file Intercom wrote. Converight stores each record under WORM storage with its own key and a hash-chained audit log, so the record is one you can stand behind.
There is no version history
Edit a message, change a tag, delete a conversation — the prior state is gone from Intercom’s UI and its exports. Every Converight snapshot is kept, so the earlier version is still readable.
An export is not a backup
A manual dump living inside the same platform does not protect you from someone inside it. Your archive is protected by S3 Object Lock throughout the retention period, with governance-bypass permission denied across our AWS organisation. Enterprise Compliance mode removes the storage-level override entirely.

Erasure that survives immutability
Each record is encrypted with its own key. Erasing one destroys that key, so the record becomes permanently unreadable while the object stays locked — a mechanism designed to support Article 17 responses when the storage underneath cannot be deleted.
A tamper-evident audit log
Every backup run and every human view, search, export and download is recorded in a hash-chained log you can export and verify.
Evidence you can hand over
Search by customer, date or tag; read the transcript exactly as archived; export it as JSON, CSV or PDF with its checksum attached.
Coverage you can verify
After every backup we reconcile our record counts against Intercom’s own, per resource type, and show you the coverage. Records Intercom returned incomplete are counted too, rather than left for you to find.
Restore-tested, not just backed up
We sample archived records and decrypt them straight out of immutable storage, confirming the encryption key, the metadata database and the object store still agree. A backup nobody has restored is a hope.
